"Since installing the FP-5L I have had problems with what I thought was setting the K factor. No matter what calculations I made the fuel pumped from the truck differed sometimes by 30% from what the meter told me I had used. Then I started to watch the actual GPH during flights and it seemed just about right. Conclusion was that I have a problem with a fuel cell that collapses partially on an irregular basis. There is an AD for this problem on my Comanche, but it was the use of your meter that found the problem.
 
While on a local flight at about 2,000 feet I leaned the mixture a bit. Then I decided to lean it further and that is when the mixture control came out of the panel in my hand!! I was not sure just how much the engine was leaned and the usual method of looking at how far out the mixture control was from the panel was no longer available. I then checked the GPH on your meter and was assured that I was not very lean and could descend without fear of the engine quitting."

07/17/2005 "Just finished installing your UBG-16 in my late model Cessna 182S.  Cessna's stock EGT is located below the collection of the three exhaust pipes on the left side.  I like to keep under 1400°F EGT temps.  I found out in short that using the Cessna EGT to peak and enrichen the mixture 50° will allow temps significantly higher than 1400°.  A good reason for your prospects to buy one of your analyzers; they can know for sure what is going on in their engines.  I'm glad that I did!  My second analyzer from EI....I'm very pleased!"

01/31/2005 "I installed an EI C-4 and E-4 on my Grumman Tiger 500 hours ago to better monitor the engine performance as it approached its TBO. Due to the comfort I got from knowing exactly what it was doing I was able to work it to 200 hours beyond TBO without risk. When the replacement engine was fitted, there was a problem with incorrect CHT readings. I approached EI Technical Support for assistance and received an immediate response which resolved the situation. The CHT probes had been installed incorrectly. Now they are correctly installed and both the EI instruments continue to work perfectly. Product support is important if you live near by: it is critical when you live on the other side of the world. EI has demonstrated that not only are its instruments of very high quality, but its product support is second to none."
